The Erminian Republic is a group that formed from the remnants of center most sector of Cairta after it was devastated by the Lowënhaas Empire Dread Fleet.
It was founded by a collection of trade houses located within the sector who took the opportunity to seize power after the Dread Fleet weakened Cairta's power over the sector. after they gained independence they divided the responsibilities of government amongst the five trade houses. Gonverian House took control of military, Thaskatan House took control of commerce, Oid House took control of infrastructure, Tygen House took control of science and education, and Hiedwell House took control of legal system as well as diplomacy between the other houses.
